You can now add more than one access point. Businesses places requires more than one AP's, but typically residences requires only one AP, but sometimes large houses requires more than one AP's then you have to add your primary wireless router to the second one with the help of an Ethernet cable.

Ethernet was originally based on the idea of computers communicating over a shared coaxial cable acting as a broadcast transmission medium. Ethernet shared coaxial cable traversed a building or campus to every attached machine. A scheme known as carrier sense multiple access with collision detection governed the way the computers shared the channel.
